About Public Opinion Poll in Iraq

Iraqis optimistic about their economic situation: 50% think that the country is performing better economically since the 2003 US strikes.
 
3 out of 5 Iraqis think their family's economic situation has improved since US occupation.
 
Iraqis wary of prospects for peace: 62% think that the chances for peace and stability have worsened.
 
Perception of security strongly tied to events on ground: In April/May 2004, 55% believed that they would be safer if the CF were to leave immediately, amid all the hype surrounding the June 30th "rush to sovereignty"
 
In June, this fell down to 41% reflecting the level of faith in the new interim government's ability to bring law and order.
